What actually happened

The timing correlation is real. The causal claim is not. The data shows why.

PTM credentials left active on shared machines.

Trainers access Manager Suite through PTM logins left open on club-floor machines and self-acknowledge sessions. The PTM role at CR is a productivity role, not a control role.

Bulk acknowledgment became the default flow.

Built as a productivity feature for managers under payroll deadline pressure, it became the path of least resistance. Today, ~60% of acknowledgments are admin-initiated — per-club variance ranges 20% to 85%.

The verification layer exists — it is not yet wired in.

The ABC check-in API that triangulates physical member presence with session acknowledgment is available today. It has not been built into the acknowledgment flow.

All three pre-existed Enhance. They are now measurable for the first time.

Fixes already in motion

Two ship inside the current pay period. The third needs a joint decision.

Enhance is the operating system for PT at scale

Manager Suite, the acknowledgment flow, the verification controls, the per-club visibility — these are not features bolted on to fix this issue. They are the operational backbone that makes a 95-club PT business runnable in the first place.

Visibility

Per-club, per-trainer, per-session data that did not exist before October 2025.

Control

Role-based permissions, acknowledgment gates, audit trails for every payroll cycle.

Scale

A single source of truth across 95 clubs instead of 95 versions of the same spreadsheet.

How we close the gap — by product, not by blame

Five concrete control mechanisms, shipping or in design.

Auto-logout from shared machines

Manager Suite sessions end automatically after a short inactivity window. Removes the "left logged in" surface area entirely.

Friction on bulk acknowledgment

A confirmation step before bulk acknowledgment runs, with the dollar value of the payroll commitment shown on screen. Forces a deliberate decision instead of a reflex click.

Manager and regional notifications

When bulk acknowledgments cross a threshold, the regional sees it the same day. Visibility, not punishment.

Trainer-by-trainer verification prompt

For sessions flagged as unverified, a one-tap prompt asks the manager to confirm with the trainer before payroll runs.

Acknowledgment role moves above PTM

Manager Suite keeps scheduling and starting at the PTM level. Acknowledgment moves to supervisory.

None of these require trainers to be the problem. They make it easier for everyone — managers, regionals, trainers — to do the right thing by default.

Why going back doesn't solve this

Auto-logout, bulk-acknowledgment friction, supervisory acknowledgment, regional notifications — none of these exist in an open calendar model. The conversation we are having today becomes impossible to have.

The 73,135 figure exists because Enhance instrumented the flow. Going back means losing the data that makes the problem visible at all. The issue continues — invisibly.

Expands the surface area.

Open calendar means anyone can acknowledge anything, anywhere, with no gates. The surface area for the same behavior gets bigger, not smaller.
